Amazon in health care?

Last week, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon announced they were forming a company to give their employees another health insurance option. Experts expect the new company to focus on price, quality and medical record transparency as ways to lower costs.

We have been committed to transparency for years. More than 200,000 people have used MyChart since we launched it in 2014. We have offered a cost estimator tool on our website for the past decade. And efforts like our Baptist Mail Order Pharmacy lower your medication costs.

Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase join other Fortune 500 companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Walmart, IBM, AT&T and HP in trying to find solutions to serious health care issues. I welcome their input because we all need to help make health care better. Our focus is to help patients make informed choices and take charge of their health. I appreciate how you help us do this every day.
