Once a quarter, all our managers, directors, hospital CEOs, vice presidents and executive team come to the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, for the Baptist Leadership Development Intensive (BLDI).
I value this time with our management team, but I also want non-managers to know what we discuss and learn. Everyone needs to understand why BLDI is so important for our organization.
This year, we’re going to start featuring BLDI topics in Leader. I’m always asking you to become more engaged in your work, and this will help you do that. We’ll share information about how Baptist works and how we’re progressing toward our goals. We’ll also celebrate the many wins our team members achieve and connect what we do to our mission and purpose.
We are a large organization stretched over hundreds of miles and three states, yet we must remain connected. It’s important for all of us to be familiar with the hospitals, physician offices, clinics and other entities that make up Baptist Memorial Health Care. I want us all to learn from and inspire one another.
BLDI is like a huddle. We gather our management team to share our plans. By the time we break the huddle, they all should know how we plan to reach our goals. Sharing information from BLDI in Leader allows all 18,000 of us to join the huddle, so we all understand how we can score that touchdown together.
