Badge of pride

Starting next month and throughout next year, we will all be getting new badges. This is a special time for our organization because it will bring us all closer to one another and closer to our mission.

Baptist North Mississippi team members will be the first to receive new badges. They will get them next month, right before they move into their new hospital. In November, team members at Baptist Attala, Leake and Yazoo – three of the hospitals that joined our family in May as part of our shared mission agreement with Mississippi Baptist Health System (MBHS) – will get their new badges. It will be the first time the Baptist Memorial Health Care logo will represent MBHS hospitals and team members, and it will bring us together as One Baptist.

Our logo serves as a reminder of our beginning—why and how we were created and the mission behind what we do. The triangle in our logo represents our mission, which mirrors the threefold ministry of Christ – healing, preaching and teaching – and it pays homage to our founders, the Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas Baptist Conventions. The rectangle around the triangle represents the Baptist Memorial Health Care system, and it was added in 1981 when our system was created.

Your badge is much more than a card with your photo and name on it. It’s an extension of our mission, and it unites us. Every day when you put on your badge, it shows you are part of a team dedicated to living our mission through our work. I am so proud to be part of this team, and I hope you are, too.

We will have more information on your new badges soon. In the meantime, if you want to reach me, please email me, tweet me @jason_m_little or find me on LinkedIn.
