Nancy Averwater, Dana Dye, Susan Ferguson, Shelia Fleming, Beverly Jordan, Joshua Roberts, Sharon Stubblefield and Cindy Wooten were celebrated because they meet the needs of academic nursing and health care in innovative ways, generate nursing knowledge and guide nursing practice, and reflect the importance of their educational training and show pride and loyalty to Memphis nursing.

The event was held Oct. 20 at The University of Memphis. Keynote speaker Mary Ellen Geist, award winning broadcast journalist turned author and caregiver, shared her journey of caring for her father after his Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and the special nurses who provided support.
