Project CRADLE Care rocks new moms’ worlds

The Germantown Iota Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority under the leadership of Angela Whitfield supported a national program called Project CRADLE Care.

On Jan. 27, members of the Sorority donated gift baskets for new moms at Baptist Women’s Hospital.

Project CRADLE Care focuses on prenatal education and resources to help improve pregnancy outcomes in high-risk communities. On the third Saturday of January, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority alumni hosted prenatal education fairs during National Birth Defects Awareness Month. Organized in conjunction with the sorority’s national partner the March of Dimes, these events include hospitals, managed care organizations, community-based prenatal care providers, and guest speakers.
