Baptist entities across the region celebrated the holidays in a number of ways. Here’s how some hospitals commemorated this special time of year.
Baptist Calhoun’s new Employee Engagement Committee hosted a “Pancakes and Scrubs” Party. Team members served flapjacks, bacon, and fruit to all 200 nursing home and hospital team members. They even delivered breakfast to those who couldn’t leave their patients. The sound of violins graced the halls of the Corporate building, thanks to Baptist OneCare analyst Jim Cronk’s daughters. Team members supported the hospital’s annual Toys for Tots drive, and departments participated in a holiday wreath competition. Baptist Golden Triangle staff and the public bid on the handmade entries, which an outside team judged. The winning department enjoyed a Krispy Kreme doughnut party. Hospital team members wore smiles and Christmas sweaters as they enjoyed the spirit of the season. The hospital’s Christmas party brought out everyone’s holiday spirit. Even Santa joined in the fun. A touching fundraiser and a great meal highlighted Baptist Union County’s holiday season. Nancy LaCroix, a Baptist Women’s knitting ministry volunteer, teaches knitting and crocheting to soon-to-be-moms in the hospital’s antepartum unit. She has made and given more than 100 hats and blankets to NICU babies and recently made 25 special Christmas hats and blankets.Baptist Calhoun
